The originality of the name of the village, its consonances being very different from those of its neighbors, already resonates like a little happiness within easy reach. In Arabic, Ramatuelle means \"blessing of God\", the Arab origin explained by the Saracen occupation in the tenth century. In every corner of the village, there are the vestiges of this past which testify very early to the enchanting character of the place. Indeed, the heart of Ramatuelle presents an original architectural configuration in the form of a snail. This nucleus around which life is organized, is typical of the Mediterranean villages. As it is pleasant to weave in and out of  its narrow streets which are stony and bloomed, random stairs and plots! The regulars and the curious always appreciate to make a small tour in the shops of craft, painting and primitive arts, where it is good to stroll during the great heats, because these stalls had the cunning idea to settle in ancient cellars dug out of the rock. Like any village worthy of the name, Ramatuelle is endowed with a main square, known as \"de l'Ormeau\", a real nerve center of local life. It is the perfect place to enjoy the terraces of cafes and restaurants. Not forgetting the Provençal market which invites guests on Thursdays and Sundays. You will fill your basket with provisions as fresh and tasty. Although more inland than the villages of the bay, swimming in Ramatuelle is just as good as the large overcrowded beaches of the gulf. So go for a walk on the side of the cove of Bonne Terrasse, secret spot reserved for the Tropéziens lacking anonymity. Located at the extreme south of the Pampelonne beach, this cove is characterized by a 150-meter-long sandy strip. In other words, the setting is paradisiacal!
