Maritime History Museum of Saint-Tropez

The hotel is located in the old town of Saint-Tropez. This is undoubtedly the most popular and most visited place in the Var. Existing for more than 400 years, the Museum majestically decorates the city.

The latter was formerly used as a defense module for the important landing stage between the Antibes and Toulon for years. Today, it is one of the most emblematic monuments in the history of Saint-Tropez.

The Saint-Tropez police force and cinema museum encourages you to come and to get your fill of of knowledge and history in this emblematic place which, before being used to shoot the famous film Les Gendarmes, received the Saint-Tropez brigade of 1879 to 2003.

Explanations follow each visit so as to illustrate the depiction of the gendarme in full - length feature films. Then, the guides will make a short introduction on the history of cinema in Saint-Tropez.

This museum treasure reveals all the scenes of several films that took place in Saint-Tropez. In order to reach this place, you have to take the road of holidays. The Butterfly House

It is an institution founded by the painter Dany Lartigue. The latter, both passionate and creative, had the idea to use his old home, requisitioned by the city of Saint-Tropez, to house a collection of butterflies.

Once you enter the museum space, you immediately feel the typically tropezian atmosphere that makes us love the peninsula. You will discover a sumptuous selection of all the specimens of Lepidoptera of France, meticulously collected by Dany Lartigue during several decades.

More than 35,000 species are exhibited, some of which are now threatened. Be amazed while seeing the biodiversity of French butterflies ranging from the best known to the most rare.
