Nestled between the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the Massif des Maures, Grimaud is a charming village with a still-present medieval character. Perched on a hill, the thing you see upon arriving is its castle. Built in the 11th century, this feudal edifice, of which imposing ruins remain, offers a magnificent panorama of the coastline and the wooded hills of the Massif des Maures.
Rich in a still preserved heritage, Grimaud is home to a succession of pretty cobbled and flowery alleys, small squares, arcades and restored old houses. In the old village, you can also discover the beautiful Saint-Michel church from the end of the 12th century, in Provençal Romanesque style, which houses a fresco dating from 1850 representing Saint Michael, Saint Peter and Saint Bartholomew, as well as contemporary stained glass windows created in 1975 by the jeweler Jacques Gautier. Near the village, starting from the Saint-Roch mill, the path leading to the Pont des Fées will delight lovers of walks in the heart of nature, with its peaceful setting and magnificent view of the castle!
